He was predeceased by: his parents, Curtis Martin and Lauraine Martin (Springsteen). He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Smith; his daughters, Heather of Arizona and Holli of Pinckney; his siblings, Brian, Tim (Mary), Dale Martin, Becky Stark and Deanna Zalmanowski; his mother-in-law Irene Smith; and his brothers-in-law, Tom Smith (Sheri) and Chris Smith. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
