He is survived by: his mother Nancy Lou Chappel (Gilbert); his children, Angela Isham (LeRoy Hoppe) of Bad Axe, Beth Rudzis (Ryan) of Dundee and Troy Chappel (Sue) of Fraser; his grandchildren, Troy Jr. Chappel (Cheyenne Nash), Ashley Kildow (Derek), Katie Duggan (Luke), Rachel Mueller, Curtis Arntz (Alyssa Holland) and Aiden Rudzis; his great grandchild Westyn; his siblings, William Jr. Chappel (Rose) of Bad Axe, Star Langley (Ken Craig) of Caseville, Terri Born (Randy) of Elkton, Cozette Ryan (Willis) of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Ted Chappel (Anita) of Filion; his close friend Pep; his brother Timothy Scott Chappel; his close friend Elizabeth Heck; his great-nephew Michael Bradley; and his caregiver Kassie. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the MacAlpine Funeral Home (302 N Hanselman St, Bad Axe, MI 48413). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer those planning an expression of sympathy to consider a memorial to "A & D Hospice".
