She was predeceased by: her parents, Daniel Burlingham and Marguerite Burlingham (Bowers); her husband Roy Sumner; and her sons, Dale Sumner and David Sumner.
She is survived by: her child Dean Sumner (Linda); her daughter-in-law Trudy Sumner; her granddaughters, Heather Sumner, Amanda Finnie (Jake), Shannon Meacham (AJ), Stefanie Reames (Mike), Kelly DeJonge (Reid), Emily Larson (Nick Thomason), Steena Pierce (Foye) and Kelsey Sumner (Will); and her siblings, Daniel Burlingham of Hartford, Elaine Moore of South Haven and Marie Gann of Holland. She is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Bangor Chapel (258 W Monroe St, Bangor, MI 49013). A funeral service was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
The family suggests memorials be made to the 1st Baptist Church in Lawton or to Hospice.
