She was predeceased by: her parents, William M. Buford and Juanita Stevens; her husband James Carlin Armstrong, Sr.; her son Eric; and her siblings, Doris Smith and Leroy Buford.

She is survived by: her children, Debra, Tyrone, Janice, Michael (Jill), James Jr., Kurt, Derek, Kim, Tracy, Heather and Nicholas. She is also survived by her grandchildren, and all her great-grandchildren.
