She was predeceased by : her parents, Martha Helen (Johnson) and Armas Leopold Heikkinen; her husband Frederick Dakota of Baraga; and her siblings, Melvin Heikkinen, Roy Allen Heikkinen and Diane Virenius (Heikkinen).
She is survived by : her children, Pamela Marie Haataja, Lisa Ann Haataja (Doris), Mary Ellen (Haataja), McRae (Kevin), Nora Jean (Haataja), Korkko (Mark) and Norman Eugene Haataja Jr. (Maria); her grandchildren, Ryan, Victoria Nikonchuk, Laura Lee Tahtinen, John, Erika, Maya, Emma McRae, Kaitlin, Zachary, Aili Korkko, Stephanie (Fraki), Sterbenz (Jordan), Colton, Ty and Beaudan Haataja; her great grandchild Parker Jayne Sterbenz; and her brother Thomas Heikkinen (Patty, family: Gerald Heikkinen, Kathy, Alden Virenius).
