He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Malek and Wilma Malek (Keifer); and his siblings, David, Clare, Larry, Chris, Helen, Wilma and Kathy.
He is survived by: his children, Trisha Morey (Mike) of Lansing, Daniel Malek (Dawn) of Ithaca, Ilene Vincent (Ken) of Evart and Ruth Gillespie (Todd) of Elsie; his friend Judy Blanchard of Barryton; and his siblings, Charles Malek (Connie) of Hubbardston, Albert Malek (Bonnie) of Hubbardston, John Malek (Darlene) of St. Johns, Bobby Westphalt (Karen) of Gaylord and Carol Reed (Jerome Schneider) of Matherton. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great nephews.
