It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Edward Townsend of Bath, Michigan, born in Jackson, Michigan, who passed away on October 24, 2020, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Townsend and Lowine Townsend (Hamblin); his wife Roberta "Bobbi" Townsend; his brothers, William "Bill" Townsend and Clayton Townsend; and his grandson Chad Ballard.

He is survived by: his children, Jean Hagy (George) of Bath, Cindy Ramirez (Tony), Robert Townsend (Jamie) of Bath and Thomas Townsend (Cheryl) of DeWitt; his grandchildren, Heather Suttles (Andrew), Jeremiah Hagy (Kimberly), Lauren Artino (Paul), Lindsey Ray (Michael), Austin Townsend, Myia Ballard, Alexander Townsend, Brandon Townsend, Benjamin Anderson and Emily Smart (Cedric); and his brother Dave Townsend (Janelle). He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.

Me & my brother inlaw where @ the Hall of Fame on Lake Lansing . we sat back and did the math.. We had known coach was in the hall of Lansing Fame. 4 his years running for Lansing Everett. We Never knew. He was a 4 time National Champion @ Michigan State University. RIP COACH CU & the Uncle Johns in the sky!”
