He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Irene Kender and Andrew DeVera; his stepfather Donald Ceboll; his stepsons, James and John; his wife Patricia DeVera (Houdek); his daughters, Renee Thomas, Karen McFarland, Leslie DeVera-Duncan and Sharon Andree; his daughter-in-law Susan DeVera; his grandchildren, Patricia Alexander, Laura Bibler, Bryan Bibler, Stephen Thomas, Lydia Thomas, Abbie Andree, Elysia DeVera and Zach DeVera; his stepgrandchildren, Jessica McFarland and Andrew McFarland; John Thomas, Andrew McFarland, Thomas Duncan and Scott Andree.
