She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold K. Perkins and Rebecca Perkins (Hathaway); her former husband Charles F. Avery; her son Charles (F. Avery Jr.); and her brothers, Roger and Peter Perkins.
She is survived by: her children, Keenan Wright (Lisa) of Arizona and Kimna Banks (Lewis) of Battle Creek, MI; her foster daughter Laurie Hickman of Florida; her grandchildren, Christopher Laird (Marie), Jeremy Laird (Jennifer), Jessica Simms (Chris) and Kaetlin Stevens (Jack); her brother Stephen Perkins; and her sister-in-law Bonnie Perkins. She is also survived by numerous nieces & nephews; and a slew of friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Schaffer Senior Residence and Senior Care Partners P.A.C.E. in Battle Creek; the Shrine Hospitals for Children – Chicago or the Alzheimer's Association.
