He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Benjamin and Antoinette Loletta Moon; his brother Michael; his granddaughter Ashlyn; and his former wife Peggy Shepherd.

He is survived by: his son DJ; his friend Michael; his grandson Zayden; and his children, Diana Moon (Michael Cain), Daniel L. Moon, Jr., Robert Moon and Nick Purucker. He is also survived by six granddaughters, one grandson, three great-granddaughters and two nephews.
