With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Daniel Thurston Prough III of Battle Creek, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 24, 2025 at the age of 79. As Daniel Thurston departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Daniel Thurston may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Daniel Thurston leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Thurston and Naomi Mavis Prough (Johnson); his stepfather Glenn Meginley; and his grandson Donavin Prough. He is survived by: his daughters, Louise Smith (Dillard), Mychelle Prough and Linda Stewart (Dwight); and his sister Esther Crump. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Fort Custer National Cemetery (15501 W Dickman Rd, Augusta, MI 49012).
