She was predeceased by: her mother Phyllis Brown; and her siblings, Ernest and Donna. She is survived by: her husband Garland Settle; her children, Bubby, Joyce, Rico and Mika; her grandchildren, Josiah, Javin and Jovon; her sister Robben; and her close friend Sherrie Lawton.
