He was predeceased by: his parents, Toivo Saari and Genevieve Saari (Rian); and his siblings, Gene Saari, Mark Perkkio and Marcella Snyder.
He is survived by: his wife Lee Ann Hook; his children, Karen Kunzelmann of High Ridge, Donna Saari of Pinetops and Jason Saari (Jenny Sawyer) of Kalamazoo, Michigan; his stepchildren, Kathy Detweiler (Evan) of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Aaron Hook (Kristin) of Battle Creek, Michigan. and Trevor Hook of Battle Creek, Michigan.; and his siblings, Glenn Saari (Sally) of Duluth and Marie Olson of Isanti. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
