She is survived by: her husband Eddie W. Cowans; her sister Violet Mae Kelly; her sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Hayford and Betty Yager (Gaines); and her sibling's children, Vickie McDonald (Darryl), Idabell March (Marcus), Yulanda Wingfield (Charles), Larry Martin (Patricia), Sidney Moore (Alicia) and Michael Moore (Casandra). She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 58 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren.
