He was predeceased by: his parents, James Earl and Ora Etola Ivens; his wife Judy Ivens; and his siblings, Earline Sutton, Richard and Howard Ivens.
He is survived by: his children, Gordon Charles Ivens, Jr., Christel Etola Haygood, Raymond Ivens, Doug Nunn and Laura Osbourne; and his brother Bobby Ivens. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service (375 W Dickman Rd, Battle Creek, MI 49037). The military honors will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Fort Custer National Cemetery (49012 W Dickman Rd, Augusta, MI).
