He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob and Neoma Westrick (Klein); his brother Otto Westrick; and his sister-in-law Joyce Brown. He is survived by: his granddaughter Debra Wemple (Nathan); his daughter-in-law Laurie Clark (Westrick); and his nephew Jacob Westrick (Irene).

He was very active in the Battle Creek Community Foundation and provided many scholarships to the graduates of St. Philip High School as well as 11 others that were not apart of the school.
