He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert R. Barber and Velva V. Barber (Kibler); his children, Greg Barber and Lynn Chockley; his brother Donald Barber; and his great grandchild Isabella.
He is survived by: his wife Beverly Simpson; his children, Vicki Gustin (Greg) of Kalamazoo and Leslie Stricklin (Robert) of Branson, MO; his stepchildren, Dennis Simpson (Susan) of Plymouth, MN and Janine Peters (Dave) of Gaylord, MI; his grandchildren, Matthew, Jeffrey, Sarah, Laura, Nicole, Lindsey, Michala, Leigha, Tyler, Tara, Andrea, Elizabeth and Alexander; and his sister Elizabeth Trumbull (Richard).
