He was predeceased by: his parents, James Elmer Johnson and Eliza Johnson; his brothers, Ralph Johnson and Hugh Johnson (Junior); his grandson Robert Joseph Parsons; and his great great grandchild Malik Dishman.

He is survived by: his siblings, Juanita Riddle (Carl) and Bobby Johnson (Judy); and his children, Rita Olson (Otto), Rhonda Turner (Henry) and Keith Johnson (Benedikte). He is also survived by her children and grandchildren.
