He was predeceased by: his parents, John Max Hayes and Martha Okeneske Hayes; his wife Sue; his brother Dick Hayes; his daughter Beth Ann Winget; and his granddaughter Samantha Winget.
He is survived by: his children, Theresa Clement (Steve) of Battle Creek, Tim Hayes (Lori) of East Leroy and John Hayes (Shauna) of Grand Haven; his son-in-law Chuck Winget (Sheri) of Battle Creek; and his great grandchild Sister Mary Ann Austin. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
