It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janet Mae Smith in Battle Creek, Michigan, born in Albion, Michigan, who passed away on September 2, 2022, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Albert Edmond Osmun and Donna Worth Bates; her children, Jean, Joan, Janet, Jim and Jackie; her uncle Richie; her aunt Irene Ray (Osmun); her husband Richard Paul Smith; her sister Jackie Osmun Slaughter; and her children, Denise Hays (Craig), Jon Laughrey (Vevencia), Lisa Laughrey (Tom Lamphere), Lori Ortiz (Edwin) and Tina Barnes (Rick). She was also cherished by many nieces and nephews, eleven grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren.
