He was predeceased by: his parents, Felix Carpenter Jr. and Lillie Matt Carpenter (Smith); and his siblings, Felix Carpenter III, Ulice Carpenter, Albert Carpenter, Ester Mosbey and Pheobie Hall.
He is survived by: his wife Lula Carpenter (Glass) of Battle Creek, Michigan; and his children, Selena Williams (Luther) of Indianapolis, IN, Jataune Carpenter of Battle Creek, MI, Stephen Carpenter of Battle Creek, MI and Joe DeVan of Battle Creek, MI. He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
