He was predeceased by: his parents, Blake Dye and Frances Dye; and his son Christopher Dye. He is survived by: his children, Patricia Palmer, Lisa Culbertson (Thomas) and Johnny Dye Jr. (Dawn); his grandchildren, Justin Livingston, Ashlee Vaden (Noah), Ashley Culbertson and Andrew Whitcomb; and his great grandchildren, Mia and Aura Livingston.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
