With heavy hearts, we announce the death of LaVerne Estelle Owens (Battle Creek, Michigan), born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on April 20, 2024 at the age of 100. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Sadie Palmer and Paul Owens; her son Jesse Lee Owens Jr.; her stepfather Jack Carter; and her siblings, Harriette, Gene, Arlene, Arnold and Jannifer.
She is survived by: her former spouse Jesse Lee Owens Sr.; and her son Bill P. Owens (Sally) of Stafford, VA.. She is also survived by her son; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
