She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest A. Bussell and Lenora A. Bussell (Carter); her siblings, Ernest L. Bussell, Michael Bussell, James Bussell and De Vera McDaniel; and her husband Frank F. Haywood.

She is survived by: her sister Nancy Hoyt (Daniel); her siblings-in-law, Larry Haywood and Nancy Soule; her daughters, Cathi Ghere (Stephen) and Cindi Haywood; her stepdaughter Peggy Brackett; and her grandchildren, Joshua Brennan (Avery), Amanda Orduna (Rafael), Catrice McCarty (Lawrence), Patricia Gibbs (James), William Sullivan (Karleen Gusmano), Jordan Ghere, Jennah Arrendondo (Max), Jason Burns (Toniesha), Nichole Phillips (James Jr.) and Beatrice Brown. She is also survived by 26 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
