He was predeceased by: his mothers, Maxine Porter (Johnson) and Cecilia Porter (Bonke). He is survived by: his wife Cecilia; his brother Jeff Porter (Sue) of Battle Creek, MI; his daughters, Sarah Blanchard (Don) of Battle Creek, MI and Julia Snyder (Robert) of Shawnee, KS; and his grandchildren, Ethan, Cora, Lauren, Kara and Alayna.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Richard A Henry Funeral Home (703 Capital Ave SW, Battle Creek, MI 49015). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Westlake Presbyterian Church (415 S 28th St, Battle Creek, MI 49015). A burial was held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 at the Fort Custer National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, Dementia Society of America, or a charity of your choosing.
