She was predeceased by: her parents, John B. "George" and Alma A. Duchaine, Jr. (Lake). She is survived by: her husband Richard C. Steele; her sons, Richard C. Steele II (Marie) and John W. Steele; and her grandchildren, Morgan M. Steele and Dylan R. Steele.

Her other memberships include: the Bay City Garden Club , the former Bay City Country Club, the Saginaw Country Club and the McLaren Bay Medical Auxiliary and was a past co-chair of the Charity Ball.
