We bid farewell to Donna M. Hughes of Bay City, Michigan, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on January 30, 2026 at the age of 90. Donna touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Ligney and Delia Ligney (Proulx); her husband Joseph R. Hughes Jr.; and her sister Mary Bernita Ligney. She is survived by: her daughter Mary Jo; her son-in-law Carl Lyn Shepherd of Edmond, OK; her son Joseph R. Hughes III of Washington State; her grandson Joseph R. Hughes IV; and her brother-in-law Eugene "Bud" Leser. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Donna will be taken to the church on Wednesday to lie in state from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to St. Catherine of Siena Parish.
