He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Chardon and Grace McDowell (Lester Highlen); his in-laws, Erv and Dorothy Loessel (Cheryl Lynn Highlen); his son-in-law James Goodnight Jr.; and his siblings-in-law, Mike Cooney, Judith Bialobrzewski, Pat Phillips, Myrtle Oatzes, Ron, Sharon Loessel, Molly and Ed Lesko.
He is survived by: his children, Kimberly Goodnight (Greg Courier) and Todd Highlen; his grandchildren, Cody Goodnight and Nicole Goodnight; his siblings, Bev Laskey (Joe), David Highlen (Diane) and Nancy Cooney; and his brother-in-law Jarome Bialobrzeski. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Gephart Funeral Home (201 W Midland St, Bay City, MI 48706).
