We are sad to announce that, on April 27, 2020, at the age of 55, Ernie Long (Bay City, Michigan) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Milton Long and Beverly Long (Kollsen). He is survived by: his close friend Heidi Gancarz; his children, Chandler Long, Kelsi Hitz (Michael) and Kyli Long; and his siblings, Brad Long and Debbie Barlos. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.

“Sorry for your loss. Ernie was my best friend and roommate in the army in Hawaii. He was a mentor, an excellent athlete, and a good leader. Our friends called us Ernie and Bert (because my last name is Olbert). We lost touch after we both left for civilian life, and by the time I found out that he lived only one state away from me, I found out about this sad news. God bless your family”
