He was predeceased by: his mother Audrey Karnis; his wife Jeannette Malusi; and his son-in-law Bob Archer. He is survived by: his children, Kimberly Fairchild (Phillip), Diane Shank, Carol Eaton (Aaron) and Gary Shank Jr. (Anggie); his grandchildren, Kyle Samalik, Morgan Bruinsma, Garrett Lichty, Ross Fairchild, Shelby Archer, Halie Saenz, Brittany Menningen, Courtney Libbrecht, Katelyn Reitzel, Addisyn Reitzel, Chase Shank and Carson Shank; his great grandchildren, Robbie, Ollie, Parker, Klara, Henry, Grant, Amaya and Isaac; and his sister Diane Ruthig (Paul). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many close friends and extended family.
