It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George M. McFarland (Bay City, Michigan), who passed away on July 28, 2025, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of George M. McFarland to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer McFarland and Viola McFarland (Rivard); his son Johnathan Miller-McFarland; his siblings, Jim McFarland, Kay Wittbrodt, Dolores Hughes and Ann Stien; and his in-laws, Roy and Jackie Christiansen.
He is survived by: his wife Catherine J. Christiansen; his siblings, Jerome McFarland, Paul McFarland (Lynn), Mary Graveline, Joan Trombley and Janet Hamling (Duane); and his in-laws, John Christiansen (Kirsten), Patrick Hughes, William Wittbrodt, Rex Stien, Terrie DeWaele (Dan) and Mary Tompkins (Tim). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 6th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, August 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 6th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Squires Funeral Home (211 N Henry St, Bay City, MI 48706). A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Corpus Christi Parish – Holy Trinity (1000 S Wenona St, Bay City, MI 48706).
