He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer McFarland and Viola McFarland (Rivard); his son Johnathan Miller-McFarland; his siblings, Jim McFarland, Kay Wittbrodt, Dolores Hughes and Ann Stein; his in-laws, Roy and Jackie Christiansen; and his brothers-in-law, Art Trombley and Roy Graveline.
He is survived by: his wife Catherine J. Christiansen; his siblings, Jerome McFarland, Paul McFarland (Lynn), Mary Graveline, Joan Trombley and Janet Hamling (Duane); and his in-laws, John Christiansen (Kirsten), Patrick Hughes, William Wittbrodt, Rex Stein, Terrie DeWaele (Dan) and Mary Tompkins (Tim). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
