He was predeceased by: his great grandchildren, Sophie, Summer, Scottie, Vera and Lily; his wife Agnes (Maxwell) of Anne's Church; his parents, Paul Hitz and Frieda Hitz; his siblings, Marian Skrzypczak (Marshall), Marcella Bleshinski (Stanley), Betty Rugenstein, Paul Hitz Jr. (Delores), Ruth Gorney (Jerry), Marjorie VonHolt (Vern) and Charlotte Youngs (Richard); and his nephew Mike.
He is survived by: his children, Susan "Sue" Gentle (Pat) and Mark Hitz (Joann); and his grandchildren, Kurt Reinhardt, Kate Phillips (Scott), Kris Reinhardt (Becky), Steve Gentle, Jenny Sampson (Josh), Patrick Gentle and Brooke Hitz.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family or AMVETS Post 22, where Jim never missed a Sunday beer and a good conversation.
