With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Joan C. Hildinger (Bay City, Michigan), born in Unionville, Michigan, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her husband Ronald G. Hildinger; her parents, John Sowa and Cecilia Derwinski (Trombka); her adoptive father Francis Derwinski; her grandchildren, Ryan Hildinger and Hailee Friedle; her sisters, Donna Derwinski, Janice Umphrey and Frances Robinson; and her brother-in-law James Hildinger (Karen).
She is survived by: her sons, Raymond Hildinger (Cindy), John Hildinger (Stephanie), Dennis Hildinger (Angela) and Tim Hildinger (Penny); her brother-in-law Allen Hildinger (Nancy); her nephew Todd Umphrey (Trisha); and her caregiver Nancy. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 28th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Trahan Funeral Chapel (256 N Madison Ave, Bay City, MI 48708). A vigil service will be held on Thursday, May 28th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A prayer will be held on Friday, May 29th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and at 6:00 PM. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 29th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Jude Thaddeus Parish (614 Pine St, Essexville, MI 48732).
