Joanne R. Hacker Obituary

Joanne Rose Hacker (Buckius) , 93 of Bay City Michigan entered into the gates of heaven on October 11, 2025. She was born on August 16, 1932 in Bay City. Joanne was the beloved daughter of Perry and Edna Buckias. She spent her life rooted in her hometown, where she built a legacy of love, faith, and family.

On December 13, 1951 Joanne married Douglas Hacker with whom she shared 55 loving years with until his passing. Joanne is survived by children Mark Hacker and Bryon (Angie) Hacker, and was preceded in death by her son Scott Hacker and daughter -in-law Ingrid Hacker. She was the proud grandmother of Chad (Trisha) Hacker, Ryan (Angela) Hacker, Troy (Dawn) Canute, Kyle Hacker, and Hannah (Alex) Lee. She was also blessed with great grandchildren Elyce Hacker, Olivia Hacker, Tyler Hacker, and Katelyn Hacker; and two great-great granddaughters. She is also survived by brother-in-law Maynard Reed, and special friend of over 50 years, Marie Schroeder.

Joanne was preceded in death by parents Perry and Edna; sisters Shirley Burns and Deanne Reed, Cousin Patricia Stroemer; and brother-in-law Bill Burns.

A devout Christian, Joanne lived her life with faith at the center of everything she did. She was known as a loving mother and kindness touched all who knew her. She found joy in China painting, fishing, crocheting, cooking, camping in Tawas with her husband and grandsons, and trips to Floridia with her husband.

Joanne's memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her and faith will continue to guide her family for generations to come.

Funeral service will be on Friday October 17, 2025 at 1 pm at Rivertown Funeral Chapel with Pastor Dwight Kingsbury presiding with burial at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 11am till time of service. Family has asked for memorial for Toni and Trish house.
