Karen A. Lederer Obituary

Karen Ann Lederer, age 68, of Bay City, Michigan, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2025, in the city where she was born on February 9, 1957.

She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was marked by kindness, devotion, and a quiet strength that touched everyone who knew her. Karen carried herself with warmth and grace, and she will be remembered for the selfless way she cared for others, the generosity she showed in both word and deed, and the creative spirit that brought light and comfort to those around her.

Karen was born in Bay City and remained deeply connected to the community she called home throughout her life. She was a proud and familiar face at Culver's in Bay City, where her presence and work reflected the dependable and caring nature that defined her. Whether through her employment, her family life, or her everyday interactions, Karen made an impact through sincerity and compassion. She had a gift for making people feel welcome, valued, and remembered.

Family was the center of Karen's world. She is survived by her husband, Blaine Lederer, who shared in a lifetime of memories, love, and companionship. She also leaves behind her children, Brad Lederer and his wife, Cassy, and Ashley Lederer, who were a source of great pride and joy in her life. Karen treasured her grandchildren, Brayden, Brooklyn, Fisher, and Walker, and she found immense happiness in their laughter, accomplishments, and the special bond she shared with each of them. Her love for her family was steadfast and unconditional, and she embraced her role as wife, mother, and grandmother with wholehearted devotion.

Karen is also survived by her siblings, Brian Cole and his wife, Melanie, Kathy Thiel and her husband, Pete, and Julie Sayer and her husband, Gary. The relationships she shared with her brothers and sisters were meaningful and enduring, and those bonds remained an important part of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Dolores (Gorney) Cole, as well as her brothers Mike, David, and Tom. Their memory remained close to her heart, and she carried the love of her family with her throughout her life.

Karen enjoyed the simple pleasures that made life rich and meaningful. She loved gardening and took great pride in caring for the beauty she helped create. She also enjoyed spending time at the casino, where she found entertainment and excitement. Above all, she cherished time with her grandchildren, and those moments brought her some of her greatest joy. Her interests reflected her personality, which was both thoughtful and vibrant, practical and imaginative, steady and full of life.
