Lori Lynn DeHate Obituary
A loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend passed away in her home on June 6, 2025. She was born in Bay City, Michigan on December 5, 1964 to Joe & Charlotte (Buffman) Holbrook. Lori went to school at Pinconning High School and graduated in 1983. She married her high school sweetheart, Richard DeHate on August 3, 1991 at Sacred Heart Church.
Lori devoted over 42 years of her life working at Meijer in Bay City, where she built lasting friendships and was known for her hard work, loyalty, and kind heart. Outside of work, she embraced every opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and the simple joys of life. She loved camping under the stars, spending peaceful days at the lake, hunting in the quiet of the woods, and tending to her garden with care.
One of her greatest joys was riding motorcycles with her husband-feeling the freedom of the open road. She also loved pontooning on the water with family and friends. She loved spending time with her beloved cat, Pistol, who was always by her side-and her weekly Tuesday trips with her sisters.
Lori is survived by her husband Richard DeHate, her mom, Charlotte, her siblings, Lou Ann (Jim) Shorkey, Deb (Rick) DePrekel, Kim (Debbie) Holbrook, and Lisa (Kirk) Dycewicz; her many nieces and nephews; and her in-laws; Willie & Sharon DeHate, Aunt Theresa (Sam) Rivard-Cramer, Darlene (Ross) Russo. Other mentions include her nieces Brittney (fiancé Ryan) DePrekel and Chantal (Troy) Rowell, whom she treated as her own. Special friends Audrey and Mary; and many other loved ones who will cherish her memory. Preceded in death by her father Joe and sister-in-law Cathy (DeHate) Green. Her presence brought light and laughter, and she will be greatly missed.

A Celebration of Lori's life will be held Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 11:00 am for Mass at Prince of Peace- Sacred Heart Church, Kawkawlin with Rev. Fr. Prentice Tipton presiding. Family and friends may gather at the church from 10:00 am until time of service.
