Mary Ann E. DeWyse, a beacon of love and generosity, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2025, at the age of 88, in Bay City, Michigan. Born on May 20, 1937, in Linwood, Michigan, Mary Ann's life was characterized by her unwavering faith, her commitment to her family, and her kind-hearted nature.

Mary Ann's early years in Linwood were filled with the warmth of a close-knit family and community. She carried this sense of togetherness throughout her life, creating a home that was always open and welcoming. Her marriage to her beloved husband Jerry, who preceded her in death in 2019, was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Together, they raised a beautiful family, weathering life's storms and celebrating its triumphs side by side.

Her daughters, Darlyn (Ed) DeWyse-Kischnick, Deborah (Mike) Yenior, and Doreen (Roy) Betzold, were the pride and joy of Mary Ann's life. Her nurturing spirit extended to her grandchildren Brandon, Jason, Melissa, Melanie, Mitchell, Michaela (Josh) Bouza, Jessica (Tim) Mastbergen, and Jacob, as well as her cherished great-grandchildren Lillian, Ryker, Rowan, Jay, Kyle, Devin, Katryna, Abbie, Emma, Rhett, and Lynden. Mary Ann's legacy of love will be carried on through the lives of these precious individuals.

Mary Ann was the beloved sister to Jack (Janice), Carl (Marcia), and Rich Szafranski, and a dear sister to Jane (Lee) St. Martin. She cherished the bond she shared with her brother and sisters-in-law Dave Haney, Roy (Sue Ellen) DeWyse, Rose (Dick) Salois, and Michael (Beth) DeWyse. Her life was also touched by the memory of her daughter Denise, son-in-law Roy, brothers Leon and Jim, and sisters-in-law Janice Szafranski, Ruth Ann Haney, as well as brothers-in-law Paul and Cecil (Pat) DeWyse who all preceded her in death.

Mary Ann's life was one of active engagement and service. She was a dedicated member of the 4-H club, where she shared her skills in sewing and her passion for nurturing young lives. Her home was often filled with the laughter and joy of the many children and grandchildren she cared for, each one holding a special place in her heart.

Funeral mass will be on Tuesday September 9, 2025 at 11AM at Prince of Peace- St. Anne Campus with burial at St. Anne Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday at Rivertown Funeral Chapel from 4pm till 7pm with a Vigil to follow. Visitation will take place on Tuesday from 10am till mass at church.
