She was predeceased by: her father Dewey Nelson; her husband Clarence Higgins; her son Lonnie Higgins; and her siblings, Robert Nelson, William Nelson and Shirley Schupbach.

She is survived by: her children, Timothy Higgins (Pam) and Mary Jo Hughes; her grandchildren, Gregory Higgins (Brandi), Jeffrey Higgins (Jamie), Timothy Higgins, Kristine Weaver (Kevin) and Jason Hughes; her great grandchildren, Cody Higgins, Zackary, Allie Higgins, Declan, Nolan and Arden Weaver; and her daughter-in-law Claudia Higgins. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
