Mary Minnis Obituary

We are sad to announce that on September 18, 2021, at the age of 90, Mary Minnis of Bay City, Michigan passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Andrew Dietzler and Grace Dietzler (Carpenter); and her husband Beryl. She is survived by : her children, Mary Anne Strickland (Carl Jr.), Nancy Grimmer (Fred), Jeannine Tissington, Cathy Acker (Jack Jr.), Sally Knowlton (Dennis), Joseph Minnis (Linda) and Amy Schuth (Jeff); her grandchildren, Carl III Strickland (Dianna), David Strickland, Jessica Schlegel, Brynn Fleming (Michael), Nicholas Schlegel (Michelle), Erik Grimmer (Christine), Matthew Grimmer (Gail), Jay Grimmer (Tina), Lisa Velarde (Nick), Matthew Carroll (Stephanie), Steve Duby (Jodi), Catey Knowlton, Jennifer Minnis, Christopher Minnis, Jeff Schuth and Emilie Buckley (James); her siblings, Helen Super, AJ "Jack" Dietzler (Diana), Ruth Glasgow (Thomas), Margaret Dietzler and Karana Lujan (Patrick); and her close friend Joyce Babcock. She is also survived by twenty-one great grandchildren.

“Tom & I wish that we could be with you today, to hug each and every one of you and offer words of comfort. Mary was a great sister and I admired her for raising her family so well despite the obstacles she encountered. I also loved her sense of fun, sharing great vacations with her kids and everyday happenings too. She had such a strong faith in God. She shared that faith with me, serving as my confirmation sponsor. I hope her faith is comforting you today. Peace and much love to all.”
