He was predeceased by: his parents, J. William Schmidt and Valerie Schmidt (Meylan); his brothers, Randall and Donald Schmidt; his parents-in-law, David and Margaret Schlatter; and his brothers-in-law, Donald Schneider and Ron Schlatter.
He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Schmidt (Schlatter); his sons, Michael (Tiffany) and Scott (Summer); his grandchildren, Chase, Trinity, Casen, Owen, Macie, Harrison and Palmer Schmidt; his siblings, Bill Schmidt (Renay) of Kawkawlin, Brenda Rowley (Keith) of Bay City and Susan Cooley (Jeff) of Kawkawlin; his sister-in-law Michelle Schmidt (late Randy) of Kawkawlin; and his in-laws, Sally Zahner (Curtis) of Ellington, CT, Thomas Schlatter (Sandra) of Bay City, Sandra Schneider (late Donald) of Bloomington, IL, Kenneth Schlatter (Pam) of Linwood, Beth Knochel (Dana) of Livonia, Alan Schlatter (Vicki) of Bay City and Sharon Schlatter (late Ron) of Ft. Wayne.
Mike has had many battles since our season of Covid, and we appreciate all your efforts throughout his journey.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested Apostolic Christian LifePoints, founded in 1971 an Apostolic Christian Home for handicapped adults in Illinois, a place special to their hearts.
