He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Evert Crites (Mike) and Ethel Crites (White); his wife Elizabeth Lang; his sister Juliet Powel; his son-in-law Greg LaManna; his grandson Brandon Hages; his siblings, Bernice McSweyn and Gerald Koester; and his children, Wendy LaManna, Vicki McLaughlin (Joe), Michael Crites (Ann), Kelli Harrington (John), Lori Gainsforth (Brian) and Steven Crites (Yvonne). He was also cherished by 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Bethel Ev. Lutheran Church, Renewing the Place of Promise fund.
