He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Auman and Isabelle Auman (Sovey); his son James Thomas Auman; his grandson Spencer Pletzke; and his parents-in-law, Gus and Leona VanDriessche (VanDenBoom).

He is survived by: his wife Mary Jane VanDriessche; his daughters, Kathy Hollerback (Chris) of Westminster, CO, Mary Jo Pletzke (Randy) of Rockford, MI and Lynn Bowen (Mark) of Rockford, MI; his grandchildren, Kari Bengtson (Nick), Kristen Nesladek (Chris), Chelsea Zimmerman (Ben), Brett Pletzke (Jessy), Kyle Pletzke, Alyssa Pletzke, Mariah Pletzke, Austin Bowen (Kaitlyn), Breanna Zajac (Steve) and Chloe Bowen; his great grandchildren, Donovan, McKenna, Sydney, Paisley, Calloway, Bexley and Brooks; Ron VanDriessche (Martha), Bill VanDriessche (Sandy), Larry VanDriessche (Marilyn), Joan Lobodzinski (Jerry), Gene VanDriessche (Sue), Ray VanDriessche (Geri), Sue Lindner (Gary) and Cheryl Grzenia (Joe).
