Thomas E. Duranczyk Obituary

Thomas Edward Duranczyk, known to many as Tom, passed away on August 26, 2026, in Bay City, Michigan, at the age of 74. Tom was born on September 28, 1951 in Bay City. He grew up in a large family in Pinconning . He graduated from Pinconning High School class of 1969. After spending some years living out west, he returned to Michigan to be closer with family. He was a man known for his intelligence, his analytical mind, and his deep faith. Those who knew him will remember a steady, thoughtful presence, a strong work ethic, and a quiet strength that touched the lives of many.

Tom worked as a journeyman meat cutter, a profession that reflected his skill, dedication, and attention to detail. He took pride in doing his work well and was respected by those who knew him professionally. Throughout his life, he carried himself with a practical, capable spirit and a commitment to responsibility that extended into every part of who he was.

Faith was an important part of Tom's life, and he was a member of People's Baptist Church. His faith guided him and gave him comfort, purpose, and strength. He lived with conviction and sincerity, and his belief in God was evident in the way he approached life and the way he treated others. Tom enjoyed many interests that brought him satisfaction and joy. He especially liked buying and selling gold and silver coins, an interest that reflected both his analytical nature and his appreciation for value and history. He also enjoyed lifting weights and maintaining his strength. Fishing was among his favorite pastimes, and he especially loved trout and salmon fishing. These interests gave him time for reflection, enjoyment, and the simple pleasures of life.

He is survived by his daughter, Andrea Kern, and her husband, Brent, as well as his grandchildren, Benjamin and Gracie, who brought him great pride and happiness. He is also survived by his brothers and sister, Michael Duranczyk and his wife, Jennifer, Patricia Brazeau, Steve Duranczyk and his wife, Sue, Walt Duranczyk and his wife, Maryjo, Paul Duranczyk and his wife, Robin, and Mark Duranczyk. Tom valued family deeply, and the bonds he shared with his loved ones were an important part of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Barbara Duranczyk. Their memory remained close to his heart throughout his life, and he carried forward the values and lessons they had given him.
