He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Neering and Stella Neering (Adamkiewicz); his mother-in-law Alma Banaszak (Leon); his siblings, Dorothy Gatza (Art), Joseph Neering (Elizabeth), Mary Jacobs (Ray), James Neering and Edward Neering; and his sister-in-law Nancy Katt.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth "Betty" Neering; his children, Debra Hunter (Scott), Thomas "Tom" Neering, Jr. (Cindy) and Timothy Neering; his grandchildren, Michael Ward (Sarah), Nicholas Hunter, Joel Miller (Nicole Werth), Courtney Neering and Kyle Neering (Kathryn Lochinski); his great grandchildren, Hailee, Haydin, Adeline, Aiden, Noah and Hudson; his sister Virginia Droptiny; his siblings-in-law, Leona Huggard (David) and Ken Katt; and his nephew David (Debbie Gatza). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
