He was predeceased by : his parents, Edwin Appold and Malinda Appold (Eichinger); his mother-in-law Dolores Appold; and his brothers-in-law, Rick Rauschert and Tony Martin.

He is survived by : his wife Melissa Appold; his children, Andrew Appold (Heather), Tyler and Rachel Appold; his siblings, Dorothy Martin and Gary Appold (Linda); his father-in-law Erhardt Appold; and his siblings-in-law, Dave Appold (Sandy) and Cindy Rauschert. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust (6094 Westside Saginaw Rd, Bay City, MI 48706). A burial was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 at the St. Paul Cemetery.
