Vera A. Begick Obituary

Mrs. Begick passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Bay Shores Senior Care at the age of 99. The daughter of the late George and Caroline (Eichinger) Appold was born August 26, 1923 in Frankenlust Township, Michigan. Vera was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Friendship Circle. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and sewing.

Mrs. Begick is survived by her four children, Vaughn (Margie) Begick, Cheryl (James) Ruthig, Janice (Michael) Stack and Marcia Bacon; five grandchildren, Jeremy (Elizabeth) Begick, Timothy (Carrie) Begick, Trent (Kristen) Ruthig, Katie Stack and Jake Bacon; six great grandchildren, Ava and Allyson Begick, Jozelynn and Brandon Begick and Avery and Dawson Ruthig; one sister-in-law, Ruth Appold and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Norbert A. Begick, whom she married on December 8, 1945 in St. Paul Lutheran Church; one brother, Roy Appold; one sister, Melba (LeRoy) Hoerauf; three brothers-in-law, Victor (Shirley) Begick, Ray and Harriet Begick and Elmer and Elsie Begick.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Bay Shores Senior care for their compassion and care that they gave to Mrs. Begick.

Funeral and Committal service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust. Officiating will be Pastor Dennis W. Matyas with private interment following in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Monday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial cards for St. Paul Lutheran Church Memorial Fund will be available at the funeral home.
