He is survived by: his wife Lynda Soper (Haske); his daughter Melynda Schaefer (William); his son-in-law Daryl Stallworth; his daughter Angela Young; his grandchildren, Sharlene Stallworth, Arianna Stallworth, Aaryn Stallworth, William Schaefer III and Declan Schaefer; his siblings, Kathleen Moon and Steven Soper (Ann); and his nephews, David Hatch, Joshua Soper, Benjamin Soper and Nathaniel Soper.
Education was very important to him and the family asks that memorial contributions be made in William's name to Faith Lutheran School Bay City.
