She was predeceased by: her parents, Daniel Murphy and Luella Murphy (Deitz); her brother Joe Murphy; and her grandchildren, Lydia and Rocco.
She is survived by: her husband Fred Athey; her children, Deb Williams (Tim), Diane Roberts, Dan Athey, Jim Athey (Laura) and Kevin Athey; her grandchildren, Jeff, Nathan, Alicia, Samantha, Zoey, Danielle, Christopher, Tiffany, Alexandra, Brandon, Taylor, Becca, Ethan and Braxton; her great grandchildren, Brayden, Bayliegh-Rae, Karter, Karson, Evalaynna, Ayden, Kaysen, Raymond, Joseph, Christian and Jayden; and her brother Michael Murphy. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 24th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, November 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass was held on Tuesday, November 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (300 N Silverleaf St, Gladwin, MI 48624).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
