She was predeceased by: her father Arthur Hessler; her grandparents, Ola, Dell Scott, Mildred and Paul Hessler; and her niece Emily Hessler.

She is survived by: her mother Doris Hessler (Scott); her siblings, Debbie Hessler, Dawn Hessler-Talbott (Bernard), Scott Hessler and Craig Hessler (Lisa); her siblings' children, Victoria Cain (Chris), Paul Hessler, John Talbott, Ryan Hessler and Jake Hessler; and her great-nieces, Madison Hessler, Mackenzie Hessler, Makenna Hessler and Eliana Cain. She is also survived by many other extended family members and friends.

Memorial contributions in memory of Denise may be directed to the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans Activities Fund.
