He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Herbert and Barbara Loretta Palethorpe (Johnson); his brother Thomas L. Palethorpe; his father-in-law David Becker; and his brother-in-law James Bentey.

He is survived by: his wife Gaila; his children, Jenifier Palethorpe (Leon Nielson) of Belding, Justin Palethorpe of Crystal, Charles Bliss (Kim) of Cedar Springs, Amanda Wills (Adam) of Rockford and Sara O'Dell of Crystal; his grandchildren, Dakota Lanning, Joseph Lanning (Sonya), Olivia Palethorpe, Corbin Palethorpe, Austin Palethorpe, Chance Palethorpe, Quentin Bliss, Isaac Bliss, Kaleb Durkee, Natalie Massar, Dylan Massar, Jackson Wills, Hazel Wills, Camden O'Dell and Reaghan O'Dell; his sister Debra Kay Bentley of Orleans; his sister-in-law Deborah Palethorpe of Lowell; his nephew Thomas Smith of Orleans; his mother-in-law Karen Becker of Sparta; and his brother-in-law Scott Becker of Grand Rapids. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
